Technical Information and Data
MaintenanceManufactured stone is usually maintenance-free. Do not clean with high pressure water jets, sandblasting or acid-based products. Do not use in contact with treated water.
CompositionsA variegated composition has a significant effect on the final outcome. If you mix forms, sizes and tones, you will avoid having similar pieces of stone next to each other. We suggest opening several boxes of the manufactured stone to have a greater assortment and a better combination of pieces.
Shapes and ColoursManufactured stone is inspired from a close study of real stone using a technological process which has been perfected over the years. The base mixture is poured into actual mould, cast from samples of real stones to create a realistic effect. To avoid repetition, different moulds are used to create a wide variety of textures and forms. The coloring is also irregular and uneven to look just like natural stone. Chromatic details are obtained by applying special pigments of high quality iron oxide to each piece. The stone looks natural not only in form and texture but also in color, with a rich variety of tones and shades. The contents of each box have been packed according to size and shade, so that you can mix contents from different packs and achieve a more effective result.
ChoiceThe choice of stone pieces is entirely subjective, so in some cases you may not be completely satisfied with the result. To avoid this, try not to lay pieces randomly, as they are natural and so vary considerably in shade, texture and from - even in a single box. We therefore suggest you open all the boxes to have a general idea of the product and lay the pieces down, arranging them to your own personal taste. You may well find pieces you do not like because of their shade or form, so we suggest you place them in more "hidden" areas or even discard them.
Facing SurfacesManufactured stone can be applied directly to rough, untreated walls and any type of mortar, well-anchored insulation or plasterboard. Wire mesh or other material must be used on other surfaces (such as wood or metal). When the wall is treated or painted, sand it down first or apply a wire mesh before the adhesive.
InstallationUse high resistance professional super adhesives for installing manufactured brick or stone facing and floors both indoors and outdoors. When installing outdoors, we advise spreading adhesive on the back of the stone as well as on the back of the stone as well as on the main surface. Consumption: 7 - 9 kg/m².Use mortar for indoor and outdoor grouting of manufactured brick or stone facing. It looks natural, absorbs little water and is highly resistant to bloom. Consumption: from 6 to 8 kg/m² depending on the width of the gaps. Mortar is available is various tones to go with different models, enhancing the natural beauty of manufactured stone.
Installation TimeInstallation time depends on which models you use. With the more demanding ones, like Field Stone of River Rock, a good stone layer can install approx. 8 - 10 m² a day, whereas Pratico types can be installed more quickly: over 25 - 30 m² a day.

Laboratory Analysis
Resistance tests have been performed on manufactured stone for:
- Durability: many installations throughout the world have confirmed the exceptional durability of these products in all climates.
- Dimensions: manufactured stone comes in different varieties, ranging from 15 to 70 mm in thickness and from 50 to 400 cm² in surface area.
- Weight: depends on the model and varies from 17 to 45 kg/m².
- Fire resisting property: non-combustible material - ASTM-E-84 Class A
- Average heat resistance: 0,71
- Average compressive strength after 28 days: 385,20 kg/cm².
- Flexural strength after 28 days: 57,20 kg/cm².
- Average water absorption: 15,90.
The test was carried out on a horizontal panel to increase severity, resulting in surface absorption, reducing slowly with a consequent change in tone. - Average apparent density: 1,39 gr/cm³.
- Bloom: no signs of bloom were found on the tested sample. It is used in wainscoting with rising damp due to its excellent dehumidification levels. In unventilated, extremely damp areas, bloom may form along the joint of the manufactured stone, with slight corrosion along the edges
- Frost-wedging: the material has been subjected to 25 freezing/thawing cycles, resulting in no signs of frost-wedging.
